The Story of Jaana Koistinen from Kuhmo

Why have I chosen Kuhmo from the many options available?
Because of the clean nature, forests, lively cultural life and a smooth and safe everyday life. Jaana Koistinen, a nature and culture enthusiast and a parent of two children chose Kuhmo for reasons that are equally appreciated by those who have moved to Kuhmo from somewhere else and by those who have always lived here. Returning to Kuhmo seemed to be the right solution also because Jaana’s ties to Kuhmo had remained strong, although studying elsewhere and traveling around the world.

The video, subtitled in English, is produced by a project funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the Local LEADER action group.

The canals built in the rapids of River Kajaaninjoki were the solution.
