Bread Cheese Fair in Ristijärvi
Bread cheese or the Finnish squeaky cheese is a traditional dish made from the rich milk from a cow that has recently calved. Bread cheese is an important part of the Kainuu cuisine.
In the small municipality of Ristijärvi, a bread cheese event is organised annually, at the same time with the Veisuuvestivaali music event. Therefore, at the event, you’ll be able to enjoy this traditional delicacy but also many kinds of cultural programme.
Cheese bread is baked and sold at the event as long as there are enough of the ingredients available. There are also craft and baking workshops and an exhibition. A cafe and a restaurant serve guests in the area.
