Kajaani City Theater

Kajaani City Theater started as an ensemble-based repertory theater over a century ago. Today it is well-known for its ambitious and open-minded approach towards arts, society at large and manifestations of diversity in human experience with a special focus on issues relevant to the people in the region. The select plays are often Finnish novelties premiering in Kajaani.

Kajaani City Theater is also one of Finland’s five regional theatres. It tours mainly within the Provinces of Kainuu and Northern Ostrobothnia which consists of 38 municipalities with the population totaling 300,000.
